Taking a Closer Look

There are times when you are lucky and get exactly what you are looking for and you find amazing beauty around you that you had not seen before. I was pleased in the picture below to see a bee flying around. I had no idea that I had captured it, glad while I was taking the picture I didn’t notice it, but now looking back I think it adds something to the image, just like in life when we might have missed something but then take a closer look.

Friend Needed: Apply Within

It seems like all the important things in life require an application. It seems like almost everything nowadays you have to fill out some kind of paperwork, for a driver’s license, college, job, marriage certificate, etc., but to be a friend nothing. You simply meet someone, find common interest or ground and then all the sudden you are inviting them into your world and life and you really have no idea what you are in for. This can both be an exciting and heartbreaking part of life. Relationships are complicated and in all honesty, we go into all of them blind and just end up hoping for the best.

Friend of course is a noun and in the dictionary is defined as “a person who you like and enjoy being with; a person who helps or supports someone or something (such as a cause or charity)”.

It’s all perfectly summed up right there like a nice present with a beautiful bow on top, “person you like being with”. If only life was that simple and non-complex, that who we like being with also feels the same and has the same expectations.

Forgetting the Fear, Giving Trust (Just a humble opinion)

Why is it so hard to trust? Really it’s a very complicated question and it’s even harder to actually offer this to someone. To trust someone, to really give yourself to someone means that you open yourself up to hurt. You open yourself up to be exposed and have the potential that all you offer to someone will or might not be returned. We all have a past and people that have broken or hurt us because we offered them our trust, but how should we let that affect our lives? It’s hard to give someone a “clean slate” and not hold past hurts against them but isn’t that the only way?

It’s My Day!

So I have been thinking about what to post and wanted to write something fun or maybe another poem to post. I honestly can’t really make up my mind, but I just wanted to post something. Today is my birthday and I turn 27 year old today. I think that whether we want to or admit it or not, we all have to think about getting older. I wouldn’t say that I am one that fears it or worry about what will happen, but on days like today it makes me think of the future.

Sometimes We Must Just….Let Go

Some days it just feels like everything in life is a lot of work. That no matter how far ahead you are or think you are getting, you are never that far ahead of real life. Often times it’s that calm before the storm feeling or just like the saying goes “what goes up must come down”. Life is just like that, we have our ups and downs and life just keeps going on. Sometimes we just want a break though, just a time when things just work and you don’t have to worry about the “other foot”, so to speak.

To Help or Let Go

There are times, people and places that as we grow in our lives, we must learn to let go of. I watch a rather silly show and honestly it has the same theme reoccurring throughout it. The idea that people or a person can change and the idea that others can help that person be the person they are meant to be. But when are we to let go of that illusion or hope? Can we ever give up on people? Can someone ever hurt us enough when we must simply walk away?

Being a Friend

No one wants to be alone ever. We have those times in our lives that we gain a larger ego and say that we don’t need anyone, but that really isn’t true. We are social creatures and we are meant to be around other people. If we are alone for too long then it creates issues and problems such as depression and loneliness. What is it that keeps us from reaching out when we need someone? Regardless of friendship or romantic relationship, we should allow people into our lives and try to help in the lives of those around us. Are we better off alone? Do we really need friends or love from those around us?

Always Do Your Best

Sometimes it feels like it doesn’t matter what you do, it will always be wrong. I feel so trapped sometimes, just want to do and try my best but it feels like it will never be enough. There is always someone that is wanting more from you or feels like you have not given your best. Someone who truly loves and cares for you, is so rare to find and if you are lucky enough to find someone or people like that, why push them away?
