Let the stars stop shining,
Let the rain fall continuously from the clouds,
Filling the empty places in the world,
With hollow, meaningless nothing.
These words just flow out of me for fear, doubt or shame. My thoughts race as I try to keep them clear but I can’t stop my mind from questioning and I can’t keep my heart from breaking. These are the thoughts that swirl in my head tonight.
I can’t form the words, through any vocal trying,
I reach out to a world behind the screen,
For they can’t see or judge me,
You are here beside me and if I fall down,
Will you pick me back up again?
Love and fear are all consuming,
One builds you up stronger,
While the other drags you down deeper,
In the pain of the world,
The greatest lie that exists,
That we are meant to be lonely,
Not meant to find where we belong.
Word never spoken between one another,
We live our separate lives, yet hold each other,
I say that I love you, yet is that what you hear,
Or are these words simply falling on deaf ears?
What you see in me,
Is what you see in yourself,
All the things you doubt,
Are written all over your face.
