Loving Online (Scams/Research)

This is both for personal and public use. I am writing with an idea in mind. Recently I have stumbled onto a highly publicized yet casually dismissed problem: online dating scams (online scams in general). I have begun, only this weekend, to research the hazards and dangers that are associated with these types of scams. It’s sad, like most things, people dismiss them as nothing and only “stupid” people fall victim to such things, but that is not the case. I guess I have a new found intrigue and desire to research this issue and truly bring these victims to light and offer assistance in any way possible.

Where I am and How you can help? (Contest)

We all need direction and guidance at times. We have to stop and take a look at where we are and where we want to be going. I am making progress on my novel “False Justice” which I still can’t stand the title and I have been doing some thinking. I know that what I want is to write and share my thoughts/feelings with the world. I am a writer and even though at times it is hard and less rewarding than I would like, I am a writer.

The Great Debate: Books vs. Movies

To mentally prepare myself for the coming weekend and the release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, I wanted to put the debate of books and movies back out there. I did not grow up a Lord of the Rings fan, but the first I heard about it, I got my hands on as many books about Middle Earth as possible. I immersed myself into the world and I must say I was a fan from word one. There are critics that take pause with the flowing, flowery words and descriptions of J.R.R Tolkien, but to me, it’s magic. So to say the least, I am a huge fan of Tolkien’s work, so after the completion of the first LOTR installments, I was overjoyed to hear that The Hobbit would be next to come to the big screen.

Story Preview: “False Justice”

(This is a work in progress and I am still unsure exactly how it will all come together, I have about 50 pages written for this so far. This is the “Prologue”. I have it titled “False Justice” for now, but it tells the story of a father named David who came from a nothing start to create a family that he loves. Unfortunate events lead to the loss of things he once held dear and now his daughter who is off at college goes missing. The case goes cold and he decides to take matters into his own hands and follows the one lead he has to try and find out what happened to her. It is told by a series of flash backs.
