For this weekend, I will share some of my favorite pictures I have taken of flowers. The saying “Take time to smell the roses” is so true (though they don’t have to be roses). With these images and words, just remember that life moves so quickly and we must always remember to take time out to do what we love and hopefully share that with others. Let our words, lens or artistic ability inspire and capture such beauty so that others can’t help but be moved. This world needs all the help it can get when it comes to inspiration and beauty. Share yours with the world, whenever you get the chance!
A place seen in the sun,
So far away yet near you can taste it,
The drip of honey on your lips,
That tease with the tempting idea of success,
Though that offers no guarantees.
It has been quite a while since I have gotten myself to write here on my blog. I have been doing a whole lot of writing and really just avoiding. It’s funny when you start out and you are so dedicated and then life happens. I have still been writing, though not for my book or here, but I have been writing for my examiner site. I enjoy going to the shows and getting to see all these things that I have wanted to see for so long, but then I find that work and this writing and life in general has just kept me so busy. I read an article the other day about “fit people” and that they don’t make excuses, which is why they are fit and often times I feel that applies to most things.
It seems like all the important things in life require an application. It seems like almost everything nowadays you have to fill out some kind of paperwork, for a driver’s license, college, job, marriage certificate, etc., but to be a friend nothing. You simply meet someone, find common interest or ground and then all the sudden you are inviting them into your world and life and you really have no idea what you are in for. This can both be an exciting and heartbreaking part of life. Relationships are complicated and in all honesty, we go into all of them blind and just end up hoping for the best.
Friend of course is a noun and in the dictionary is defined as “a person who you like and enjoy being with; a person who helps or supports someone or something (such as a cause or charity)”.
It’s all perfectly summed up right there like a nice present with a beautiful bow on top, “person you like being with”. If only life was that simple and non-complex, that who we like being with also feels the same and has the same expectations.
The cover has been closed and the book back in it’s place,
All the sentences have created a complete story,
That tells of our journey together,
From where we started, how far we’ve come and how it finally ends.
Another book placed on a dusty shelf,
Just placed there to collect dust,
No longer a story in the present,
Just an incomplete one that has been closed.
There are many things going on in the world right now. We are transitioning from Spring to Summer, kids are getting out of school or graduating but life is still happening. There is still just as much, if not more, bad out there with the good. This was a story I heard which is both frustrating and upsetting as well as just sad. There is much to be said about this, but more looking from the one left behind rather than a debate on guilt or innocence. I am not judge or jury, so that is not for me to decide.
You either are who you are,
Or you are who you aren’t,
Life is unfair or is it not,
It’s all in perspective,
Based on how you see things,
Get up in the morning,
Go to bed in the evening.
Creativity comes in all shapes and forms. After continuing to search around the blogs for creative themed blogs, I have found a lot of different types. Honestly, the importance of creativity isn’t in what type of things you are creating, but just that you are creating period.
I have been falling behind on these posts lately and although I have been focusing on creative endeavors, opinion pieces are just that. We are asked to look at something, form an opinion and then articulate just what you have to say about it. Every day we all do this, whether it is conscious or not, we all make our opinions know about the news we hear and events that happen around us. This week, I am focusing on a sad event that happened in a Connecticut high school.
In honor of my last post, I have already begun my search for creativity around the WordPress world! I am glad to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with what I have found so far. Creativity is dead?? I think not and this first blogger that I have found, her blog called “Rachael Anita Creates”, proves just that.
