The cover has been closed and the book back in it’s place,
All the sentences have created a complete story,
That tells of our journey together,
From where we started, how far we’ve come and how it finally ends.
Another book placed on a dusty shelf,
Just placed there to collect dust,
No longer a story in the present,
Just an incomplete one that has been closed.
There are many things going on in the world right now. We are transitioning from Spring to Summer, kids are getting out of school or graduating but life is still happening. There is still just as much, if not more, bad out there with the good. This was a story I heard which is both frustrating and upsetting as well as just sad. There is much to be said about this, but more looking from the one left behind rather than a debate on guilt or innocence. I am not judge or jury, so that is not for me to decide.
You either are who you are,
Or you are who you aren’t,
Life is unfair or is it not,
It’s all in perspective,
Based on how you see things,
Get up in the morning,
Go to bed in the evening.
I have been falling behind on these posts lately and although I have been focusing on creative endeavors, opinion pieces are just that. We are asked to look at something, form an opinion and then articulate just what you have to say about it. Every day we all do this, whether it is conscious or not, we all make our opinions know about the news we hear and events that happen around us. This week, I am focusing on a sad event that happened in a Connecticut high school.
CNN: Connecticut teen accused in slashing death of classmate charged as adult
So what is it you are saying or what is it that you want to say? It is like a post I did a while back asking “what is it you really want?” In order to succeed, you first must decide what is it that you really want before you can pursue it with all you have inside of you. If you fail to see what it is you want, then you fail to get it. That is a pretty simple concept right? It is the same if you are not sure what it is you want to say.
I have been a bad blogger! I have been neglectful of my writing and also my fellow bloggers here. I have been dedicating myself to my writing with the examiner and I feel like all other writing has fallen to the wayside. I did not do my weekly segment this week and I have been thinking about it but I have been busy and have not even really looked around the news to see what I could or should write about. Should anyone want to jump in and make a post for this week, please by all means the “podium” is yours, so to speak.
Don’t forget to visit and subscribe to my Examiner pages. If you follow the link: Reviews, Reviews, Reviews to an older post, this has the links for my examiner pages. I write reviews for movies and performing arts.
If you live in or around Houston, then by all means be sure to check out my performing arts page. I am active in the theater scene, reviewing major productions as well as off the beaten path theaters. I have found the best of the best in Houston! Be sure to subscribe, share and re-blog 🙂 please if you would be so kind.
Please leave me comments or suggestions on my page or below here. Thanks for reading and be sure to get out and enjoy the arts!
To be more,
A picture of perfection,
The ideal smile and laugh,
You are an image of absolute joy,
The very idea of what we all should be.
But you aren’t real just an image,
You are the one that we try,
To kill ourselves to be just like,
And we always seem to fail.
A sickness you say,
Do you have it,
No I don’t,
That is half the battle.
