Now having a PS3, it has created a new experience for me, having to wait for games to download and install and depending on internet at the time it could take a while. Honestly, this could be about and related to by anyone, because no matter what it is you are doing or where you are going, you will have to wait. I guess it’s funny the things that we think about or actually don’t think about in this time. Like most things, we could always find productive things we could be doing with our time but more times than not, we end up wasting it away.
I guess I should say that I am not condemning anyone based on what they choose to do with their time. We all must decide what is best for us, so what you choose to do with your time is all your own. I think that when we are waiting for something, of course, we are thinking about how long it will take. We wonder why things can’t go faster. We live in a fast paced world and want everything done well and done quickly. We make all these advances and yet we still have to wait almost an hour for a game to load that we will then play for another hour or two, or more (I mean let’s be real). We want it all now and we want it all fast.
So what do you do with the free time? Do you pull out your phone and update your status’ on various social networks, possibly even commenting on how long it is taking? Do you play a game? Do you try to learn something? What is right for you? There are times that when it comes to waiting that we just wonder and think about all the other things that you should be doing. There is so much that I want to do and accomplish not only my professional but personal life. I want to do a lot this year but why stop there right? I want to be where I want to be and this year should be the start of where I want to go and how I want to get there.
We all have the things that we do, make list, make goals, to get to where we want to go. We as humans are driven creatures, or at least those who want to get somewhere are, and if we don’t create a plan or some form of action then we can guarantee that we won’t reach where we want to be. There are even apps now that help you create list or stick to your goals, but more times than not when we are stuck waiting we tend to reach or go for the mindless rather than the helpful. I think that we all fall victim to this from time to time, but I think we must make a conscious effort to avoid doing this, at least sometimes. If we have a place we want to go, then when we are waiting for the game to load, we should use that time wisely and use it to get where we want to be. So where are you going and are you using your time when you are waiting to get there? If not, how could you be? We might be the only ones who are hold ourselves back.
