Gift Return

The holidays have finally come to an end for another year. After spending the day with family, eating great food and receiving wonderful gifts, today is the day to return them.

Personally, I’ve never been one to return unwanted gifts but every year thousands stand in long lines for just that reason. When we are kids, our parents often ask for lists of items you might want yet as we get older that normally stops. So a person must know the other person in order to get them something they like, unless they opt for a gift card.

I feel that how well we give gifts is a direct reflection of how well we know the person. People complain that others are hard to buy for, and there are a rare few of those, but for others is it just hard because you haven’t taken the time to get to really know them? Maybe we should focus on getting to know and letting others know what we want and maybe those return lines will begin to get smaller each year.

How well did people know you this year? Did you get what you wanted? Will you be standing in lines to return unwanted things? If you are, what are you returning? On the flip, how well do you think you gave gifts? Do you think any of your gifts will be returned? Leave me a comment below and let us know how your gift giving and receiving went this year.
