Highlights and exaggerations,
What life is and what it’s not,
All the things we work so hard for,
Turn out to be meaningless.
Working for a dollar,
Without caring or showing love,
Who has that made us become,
People without purpose or heart.
Too often we all get caught up, lost in the rat race. During the holidays and end of the year, is a perfect time to stop and reflect about what really matters to us. I think that the best place for me to think and reflect is near the water. I grew up not far from it and still have that desire to just go sit for hours and hear the waves crash softly against the shore. Staring out at the flowing waters, dares us to dream and achieve things greater than ourselves. We are such a small part of everything in this world and we are only here for such a short time, so we should do all that we can to be and achieve everything we desire while we are here.
Life is too short to sit on the sidelines without actions, let your time being meaningful and don’t lose yourself or your drive, waiting on anything. Take the feelings of being small, lost or even at ease and challenge them, constantly, we should never get complacent about who we are because that leads to stagnation and underachievement. Let the waves float you towards a future as vast and endless as the ocean waters.
